STAFF APPLICATIONS
In addition to gaining access to Haute’s large network of creatives, general members will have the opportunity to publish their work (whether it be photography, writing, or design) in Haute Magazine. Members will enjoy priority access to Haute’s events including our launch party and member socials. Each semester will also bring unique opportunities to all members—for example, in past semesters, members were able to intern at Los Angeles Fashion Week and attend shows with press passes.
The goal of our recruitment process is to find passionate creatives who have demonstrated interest and investment in Haute and our mission. Throughout our written application, mixer, and interview rounds, we aim to foster genuine conversations and connections. So be yourself—we’re so excited to get to know you!
Applications are due at 11:59 pm on January 30.
WRITING TEAM
As a staff writer for Haute Magazine, you will pitch, write, and edit an article in the style of your choice for our semesterly issue, whether it be a creative piece, think piece, profile, feature, or something else that fits the semester’s theme. Your writing piece will function as a creative collaboration with a photographer and a designer, and your writing will be published as a spread in this semester’s issue. Experience in writing is preferred but not necessary.
PHOTOGRAPHY TEAM
As a staff photographer for Haute Magazine, you will work on a photoshoot that will be published as a spread in this semester’s issue. In the past, Haute photographers have organized team shoots for and outside of the magazine as well. Notable shoots our photographers have done in the past include collaborations with Members Only, Gentle Monster, Los Angeles Fashion Week, Vans, and more. Previous experience in photography is preferred.
VISUAL DESIGN TEAM
As a staff designer for Haute Magazine, your main responsibility will be to design the spreads of our magazine, using assets created by the Photography and Writing teams. Throughout the semester, you will also have the opportunity to participate in various other creative tasks, such as designing products for Haute’s merchandise line, marketing assets for our social media, and promotional posters. A background in design and previous experience in the Adobe Suite is highly preferred.
MULTIMEDIA TEAM
As a staff videographer for Haute Magazine, you will work in a small team to produce videography for the organization, most notably Haute’s theme reveal. In addition to collaborating to produce the theme reveal, staff videographers will be able to pursue opportunities such as promotional reels, short films, personal projects, and behind-the-scenes footage, either independently or with a group of videographers. Previous experience in handling video is highly preferred.
FINANCE & EVENTS TEAM
As a member of Haute Magazine’s Finance & Events team, you will work in a group to bring together fundraising events, plan socials, and coordinate Haute’s end-of-semester launch party. Members will develop relationships with donors and external vendors, expand Haute’s network through sponsorships and partnerships, and contribute to marketing strategy. Previous experience with planning events is preferred but not necessary.
RETURNING MEMBERS
Interested in returning to Haute? Here’s a streamlined form! Please note that this form is intended only for members who worked on our most recent issue, “Winds of Change.”
Applications are due at 11:59 pm on January 30.

-
Yes. If you complete an E-Board application, you will automatically be considered for the corresponding team’s general member positions as well. Therefore, there is no need to submit a General Member application for your corresponding position (i.e. if you apply for the Assistant Director of Photography, you do not need to submit a General Member application to join the Photography team).
-
Compile your top work in a Google Drive folder, share the folder with hauteusc@gmail.com, and send us the shareable link.

Yes. Anyone may apply for E-Board regardless of previous Haute membership or grade level.
